Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui(2021) Review

December 10, 2021

When a contentious topic is handled compassionately by the filmmakers, the message always connects with the target audience, as this film illustrates well in this case.

Abhishek Kapoor and the scriptwriters deserve heartfelt praise for having the courage to even contemplate handling such a tough subject in a popular picture, as well as the editor and director of photography for their meticulous work.

As for Ayushmaan, we have no words to express our gratitude for another outstanding performance in an environment that most commercial stars would never contemplate stepping foot inside. Congratulations, boss, for not just being an outstanding actress but also for being bold in your decisions. He is without a doubt the most accomplished actor of our age.

In contrast, Vani Kapoor is a total surprise; she is very smooth and gentle in her demeanour, and she engages with the audience on a deeply emotional level. Who knew where Vani had been hidden all these time. Without a question, this is her most accomplished performance yet.

It is true that there are some clichés tossed in here and there, but these can be readily forgiven because of the sheer chutzpah of the subject matter itself.
Seeing such films being attempted in Bollywood gives me a tremendous deal of joy, and I am especially thrilled when these films are successful.
